Welcome to the Altapura Hotel, in the heart of Val Thorens, in the 3 Vallées ski area. Below you’ll find all the practical information you need to plan your mountain vacation: directions, hours, half-board options, restaurants, spa, ski rentals, and other services.

ACCESS TO THE HOTEL AND PARKING

Where is the Altapura Hotel located? Rue du Bouchet, 73440 Val Thorens (Savoie). GPS coordinates: latitude 45.297557, longitude 6.5746637. The hotel is accessible on foot and by car.

Is parking allowed in Val Thorens? Val Thorens is a semi-pedestrian resort: parking is not allowed on the resort’s streets. Parking is required at:

in the hotel's covered garage, by reservation: €35 per night or €175 per week (maximum height: 2 m);

or in the resort's parking lots, through ValThorens Parking (online reservation).

What equipment should you bring for the trip? The weather in the mountains can change quickly: be sure to equip your vehicle with snow tires, snow chains, or snow socks.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

What time can I check into my room? Rooms are available starting at 4:00 p.m. and must be vacated by 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure.

I'll be arriving before 4:00 p.m.—what can I do? If your room isn't ready yet, luggage storage is available. In the meantime, feel free to enjoy the Spa by Codage, the bar, and our restaurants during their hours of operation.

What about the day of departure? You can leave your luggage at the luggage storage area and use our complimentary showers to make the most of your last day of skiing.

Is the front desk open every day? Yes, the front desk is open 7 days a week.

YOUR ROOM

What time is housekeeping performed? Your room is cleaned between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. If you would like a specific time, just let us know.

Do you offer connecting rooms? Yes, upon request and subject to availability—ideal for a family vacation in Val Thorens.

Is my baby welcome? Of course! Upon request and subject to availability, we can provide a crib, a baby bathtub, a changing pad, a nightlight, and a bottle warmer.

Are pets allowed? Yes, your pet is welcome for 35 € per day; a mat and a food bowl will be provided upon your arrival. You are responsible for your pet, and pets are not allowed in the spa or in the restaurants.

Is smoking allowed in the hotel? No. The hotel is entirely smoke-free: common areas, rooms, and balconies. Any violation is subject to a €150 fine.

How much is the tourist tax? €3.96 per day per person; it is free for those under 18.

DINING: BREAKFAST, HALF-BOARD, AND RESTAURANTS

Where and when is breakfast served? The breakfast buffet is served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Casa Alta restaurant. Pastries, breads, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, hot dishes, sunny-side-up or scrambled eggs, cold cuts, regional cheeses… everything you need to put together a balanced or indulgent breakfast before a day on the slopes.

What does the half-board option include? The half-board option, at €68 per day [per person], is valid only for dinner. It includes a special menu at the Casa Alta restaurant.

Where can I find the half-board menu? The menu changes every day. It is posted at the entrance to the restaurants.

What if the daily special doesn't appeal to me? You can order à la carte, up to 68 €, at one of the three restaurants: Casa Alta, Altayaki, or La Laiterie.

Are drinks included? No. The €68 covers food only. Drinks (water, wine, soft drinks, coffee, etc.) are charged separately.

Can I use my half-board plan for lunch? No, the plan is valid only for dinner.

Casa Alta Restaurant – Italian and Alpine Cuisine Casa Alta invites you on a culinary journey blending the authentic flavors of Italy with the local flavors of the French Alps. Enjoy lunch on the terrace overlooking the Cime Caron, or savor a refined dinner where tradition and creativity come together, capped off with an irresistible dessert buffet.Our chef and his team work with fresh, seasonal, high-quality ingredients to bring out their full authenticity and flavor. Open daily: lunch from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, dinner from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Altayaki Restaurant – Fusion Cuisine Immerse yourself in the world of Altayaki, our fusion restaurant where the flavors of East Asia meet European and Latin American influences. In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, discover inventive cuisine designed for sharing, paired with a refined selection of sake. Open every evening from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

La Laiterie Restaurant – Fondues and Raclettes Enjoy authentic Savoyard cuisine at La Laiterie, our restaurant specializing in fondues and raclettes created in collaboration with master cheese affineur Boujon. A friendly atmosphere and unique cheese creations, perfect for a cozy evening in the mountains. Open every evening from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Can you grab a bite to eat between runs? Yes! Our snack menu is available from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the bar and on our outdoor terrace.

SPA BY CODAGE: SWIMMING POOL AND WELLNESS

What does the hotel's spa offer? The Spa by Codage offers you a unique experience, tailored to the needs of every skin type. Spread over more than 1,000 m² dedicated to relaxation and post-ski recovery, discover a wide range of facial and body treatments, our indoor/outdoor pool facing Cime Caron, the Nordic spiral, and the igloo area.

What are the spa's hours?

Childcare: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Wellness Area (open to all): 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Are children allowed in the spa? The wellness area is open to the whole family. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Between 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., access is restricted to guests over 16 years of age.

What is the temperature of the pool? The pool is heated to 28–29 °C.

Are there any rules to follow? The pool is a place for peace and relaxation. For everyone’s comfort, shouting, jumping, phone calls, and noisy behavior are prohibited. For hygiene reasons, we recommend wearing briefs (such as boxer briefs or swim briefs).

SKIING: EQUIPMENT RENTAL AND LESSONS

Can I rent or buy ski gear at the hotel?Yes, our ski shop is located right next to your room and is open 7 days a weekfrom 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. There you’ll find the latest generation of ski and snowboard gear for rent or for sale (Lacroix, Salomon, Völkl, Oakley…), après-ski gear, Fusalp and Bogner sportswear, and expert advice from our professionals. Book in advance to get the best rates: online at Altapura Ski Shop or by calling +33 (0)4 80 36 80 49.

Can we book ski lessons? Yes, our concierge service will take care of booking your ski lessons.

Can my child be picked up for their ESF lesson?Yes. Throughout the French school vacation period, our ESF partner picks up children (starting at the 1-star level) at 8:30 a.m. at the ski shop. Children must be fully equipped and ready. This service is available only for group lessons.

KIDS' CLUB

Do you offer a kids' club? Yes, our kids' club is open Sunday through Friday, from 1:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., for children ages 3 to 14 or 16 (who are potty-trained). Supervised by a KidConcierge, it accommodates up to 8 children. Registration is on-site.

SERVICES AND CONCIERGE

Is Wi-Fi free? Yes, Wi-Fi is free in the rooms and common areas.

How do I get around the resort? A free shuttle runs from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (no reservation required).

Do you offer transfers? Yes, we offer private or shared transfers to and from airports, restaurants in the resort, etc.

ACCESSIBILITY (PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES)

Is the hotel accessible to guests with limited mobility? Yes. The hotel has accessible entrances and facilities, rooms for guests with limited mobility, and accessible parking spaces. Upon request, we also provide a large-button phone, an alarm clock, and a remote control designed for guests with visual impairments.
